Net Zero Transformation Programme

This award recognises organisations in Ireland that have implemented a comprehensive net zero transformation programme delivering measurable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and embedding sustainability across business operations. Initiatives may include (but are not limited to): operational decarbonisation, renewable energy adoption, energy efficiency, fleet transformation, sustainable procurement, Scope 3 reduction initiatives, carbon measurement systems and employee engagement. Entrants are expected to demonstrate how their programme is driving measurable progress toward net zero targets and delivering meaningful environmental impact compared to previous years. Entry is by a 5-page A4 PDF submission; the judges will be looking for a structured programme and evidence of measurable outcomes, paying particular attention to the criteria listed below.

• Organisation Background & Net Zero Commitment: Describe the size and nature of your organisation, including the scope of operations covered within the net zero programme. Outline your organisation’s sustainability journey, net zero ambitions, and any relevant frameworks, certifications, or public commitments supporting your transition strategy.
• Net Zero Strategy & Programme Development: Outline the structure of your net zero transformation programme, including key objectives, emissions reduction targets, timelines, governance structures, and how the programme aligns with wider business strategy. Demonstrate how priorities and actions were identified and implemented across the organisation.
• Implementation & Operational Transformation: Summarise the key initiatives delivered as part of the programme. This may include renewable energy adoption, operational decarbonisation, energy efficiency measures, fleet transformation, sustainable procurement, Scope 3 reduction initiatives, carbon measurement systems, or investment in low-carbon technologies.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Organisational Adoption: Explain how employees, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders have been engaged throughout the programme. Include details on communication strategies, training initiatives, supplier collaboration, and how sustainability has been embedded into organisational culture and day-to-day operations.
• Outcomes & Measurable Environmental Impact: Provide quantifiable evidence demonstrating the impact of the programme, including reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, waste, or other environmental indicators. Include year-on-year comparisons, progress against net zero targets, and examples of measurable organisational change.
• Future Plans & Continuous Improvement: Outline the next phase of your net zero journey, including future targets, planned investments, innovation initiatives, and continuous improvement measures. Demonstrate how the organisation plans to accelerate progress toward long-term net zero goals and maintain momentum across the business.
