This award recognises organisations operating in Ireland that have developed and implemented a robust climate transition strategy designed to fundamentally transform the organisation’s environmental performance and long-term sustainability trajectory. Entrants may demonstrate progress across a range of areas including (but not limited to): decarbonisation planning, governance, supply chain transformation, operational change, investment alignment, climate risk management, stakeholder engagement and science-based target setting. Entrants are expected to demonstrate a clear strategic roadmap supported by measurable objectives, governance structures and tangible progress to date. Judges will look for evidence that the strategy is driving meaningful organisational transformation and positioning the organisation for a low-carbon future. Entry is by a 5-page A4 PDF submission; the judges will be looking for a clear strategy and evidence that it is delivering on core objectives, paying particular attention to the criteria listed below.

  • Organisation Background & Climate Context: Describe the size and nature of your organisation, including the sectors and operations impacted by your climate transition strategy.
  • Climate Transition Strategy & Governance: Outline your organisation’s climate transition strategy, including key objectives, timelines, decarbonisation targets, and long-term ambitions. Demonstrate how climate considerations are embedded into the overall business strategy.
  • Implementation & Organisational Transformation: Summarise the key initiatives and operational changes implemented as part of the strategy. This may include emissions reduction programmes, renewable energy adoption, supply chain transformation, sustainable procurement, circular economy initiatives, technology investment, or changes to products, services, and operations.

Include year-on-year comparisons, progress against targets, and examples demonstrating how the strategy is delivering meaningful organisational transformation and improving long-term sustainability performance.
  • Future Roadmap & Continuous Improvement: Outline the next phase of your climate transition strategy, including future targets, planned investments, innovation initiatives, and continuous improvement measures.
